Since 1981, The International Council of Airshows Sword of Excellence has been synonymous with air show excellence.  Given each year to recognize outstanding service and personal contributions to the air show industry, the Sword is widely considered to be the single highest honor an individual air show professional can receive.

​"TUCC" was recognized for his leadership, service and selfless contributions to the air show community.  He was singled out for the role he has played in helping to get the Air Boss Recognition Program off the ground, for his work as a mentor to new and aspiring air bosses, and for his contributions as an instructor for multiple ICAS sessions and workshops over the last 30 years.  

The 48th recipient of the Sword of Excellence, Tucciarone joins a list of past recipients that includes Paul Poberezny, Bob Hoover, Charlie Hillard, Art Sholl, Duane Cole, Bill Bordeleau and Leo Loudenslager
